L2 and L3 packet switching is done on hardware, with a switch fabric of 12.8 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 9.5 Million pps. The DMSwitch 3000 supports up to 512 virtual router interfaces and uses RIPv2, OSPFv2 and BGPv4 routing protocols. Managed by the DMView SNMP-based NMS, the DMSwitch 3000 allows the creation of complex Access Control Lists enabling direction, discarding or prioritization of packets to ensure Service Level Agreements. With additional tools for network and cabling diagnostics, combined with other IERU products and solutions the DMSwitch 3000 is a perfect complement.

DSLAMs aggregation can be provided based on 802.1Q VLAN, Q-i-Q and Private VLANs. Path and Routes can be configured and managed via Layer 2 or Layer 3. Customers are separated securely via VLANs while pure VLAN VPNs are enabled without using expensive BRAS devices. Layer 3 routes using Isolated and Promiscuous configurations enable further flexibility.
